Tourism App — Sintravel

About 40 minutes from Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, is Sintra, a mountainous historic center. Having homed the Moors until 1147 AD, Islamic rule led to the building of beautiful castles and other stone structures. Officially founded as Sintra in 1154 AD after a transference of ownership to the Portuguese monarchy, many of the following castles built, like Pena Palace and Vila Palace, were of a medieval gothic architectural style with some Islamic inspired patterning. Their maintenance today has led to Sintra being known for these castles as a fairly popular tourist spot along with the colorful buildings that make up the center of town.
With so many exciting things to do in Sintra, the amount of information of activities and travel plans can become really overwhelming. Keeping up with the various tickets required for every activity and managing travel is also a hassle.

Through Sintravel, the user is suggested itineraries based on their interests, making the influx of planning information more manageable. Colors help guide the user toward areas like the booked tickets section where everything is in one place. A combination of delicate primary type and a bolder, secondary typeface reflect the intricacies of Sintra’s architecture while maintaining that liveliness from the city’s colors and culture.
